In the aftermath of global decimation, Humanity City emerged as a beacon of survival. Thalia Alvarez, born just five years after the apocalypse, bore witness to the fragile rebirth of civilization. Her parents, John Alvarez and Kathrine Alvarez, were among the refugees fleeing the ruins of New Jersey, in search of a hopeful new start. However, Humanity City didn’t turn out to be the haven her family hoped for.
Thalia's father, a tech genius drafted into the wars of the Death Culture Era, fell victim to the madness of Menzophrenia. The turmoil shattered their family, and at the tender age of fourteen, Thalia witnessed the accidental death of her mother, a tragic consequence of one of her father's rage fits.
Haunted by this heartbreaking event, Thalia discovered her purpose as a first-generation Blood-Bound Witness. Later in her career, she apprenticed under the guidance of the Matriarch of Technology and Infrastructure; there, she would spend nine years honing her skills, fueled by a determination to prevent the horrors of Menzophrenia from haunting others.
As a Blood-Bound Apprentice, Thalia championed a groundbreaking ordinance that eventually became law—mandatory MVT implants for male children at birth—a revolutionary step against Menzophrenia. The law's success in reducing Menzophrenia cases propelled her to the role of Matriarch of Technology and Infrastructure and subsequently earned Thalia the mantle of Prime Matriarch when she was just 47. She eagerly seized this position with a vision for a harmonious and secure Humanity City.
